The astrologers are live on camera as they consult with the internet surfer, who can ask questions by typing them in, much like a "chat room." The site is managed by World Interactive Television of London, England, where astrologers are respected professionals. WITV established its US office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which has a strong astrological community. Kate Levy is Vice President in charge of this project, which is the first of several interactive internet services the company plans to offer. The website first went on line in September. Levy has signed several of Santa Fe's most noted astrologers, including Arielle Gutmann, an internationally known specialist in geographic astrology and the author of several books. Heather Rowntree, who writes a weekly column for the Santa Fe New Mexican's Pasatiempo magazine, Marcia Starck, Author of Dark Goddesses and Dark Gods, and Steve Early, who published his book on moon phases under the pen name "Martin Goldsmith." Of her staff astrologers, Levy says, "These are among the top of the Profession in the United States, who command substantial fees for their personal readings. We are fortunate to be working with a group of consultants who would rarely be found on any other type of service. These are professionals capable of providing useful advice to professionals." U.S. Office Manager Andrew Mackintosh oversees a complex network system, housed in a cheery building near Canyon Road's famous art galleries. The site is capable of delivering streaming video and voice data to most computers on the internet. Corporate executives and personnel departments commonly use astrology to help in making decisions, even if they do not always admit to it. Kate Levy sees a bright future for a service dedicated to the "upscale" computer and credit card consumer.
