Gemini Observatory
The Gemini Project is an international partnership that will result in two 8. 1-meter telescopes (each telescope has a main mirror over 26 feet across. ) one telescope is located on Hawaii's Mauna Kea, and the other on Chile's Cerro Pachón.

Very Large Telescope (VLT) Project

The ESO Very Large Telescope will consist of four 8-meter telescopes which can work independently or in combined mode. In this latter mode the VLT provides the total light collecting power of a 16-meter single telescope, making it the largest optical telescope in the world.
