This 50-million year old lake bed is one of the richest fossil localities in the world.

These specimens are adjunct to a larger collection (15,500 pieces of rock on which are contained perhaps as many as 65,000 individual specimens), donated to and housed at the USNM-Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.
