Government UFO secrecy

By BILL KACZOR Associated Press Writer
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A retired Air Force pilot says he
suspects, contrary to official denials, an unknown federal agency is
investigating reports of unidentified flying objects and other close
encounters with extraterrestrial beings.
Donald M. Ware, Florida state director of the Mutual UFO Network Inc., a
private "ufology" organization, says he doesn't have any direct knowledge but
nearly a lifetime of study leads him to believe probes are secretly being
conducted by some national intelligence agency.

A Brief History and Perspective on UFO Sightings and Investigations
It has long been assumed by many, that the reported sightings of strange pulsating lights, or unidentified flying objects (UFO) is a recent phenomenon of the 20th Century. In reality, these sightings have been occurring nearly throughout the history of man on earth. Accounts have been recorded on stone in ancient times, and retold through beautifully illustrated manuscripts from medieval times. Of course in medieval times, one had to be very, very careful with such accountings as to be spared from execution as a heretic.
Is some one killing our UFO Investigators: UFO Magazine

Death by gunshot to the head. Death by probable poisoning. Death by probable strangulation. Deaths possibly by implantation of deadly viruses. No one lives former. Yet the recent suspicious deaths of UFO investigators Phil Schneider, Ron Johnson, Con Routine, Ann Livingston and Karln Turner, as well as the deaths of a host of researchers in the past, only seem to add emphasis to a reality with which many of the more aware UFOIogists are now quite familiar: not only is UFO research potentially dangerous, but the life span of the average serious investigator falls far short of the national average.

As Steven Spielberg's TV series ''Taken'' raises public interest in government secrecy about unidentified flying objects, the Washington Post reports that Attorney General John Ashcroft has tightened the lid on the Freedom of Information Act. Ashcroft gave federal officers the green light to bend or perhaps break the information act if they want to withhold records, and he'll even defend them in court.

UFOs: GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT, SECRECY, AND DOCUMENTS
By Barry Greenwood
The modern UFO era began on June 24, 1947, after a report by private pilot Kenneth Arnold of a procession of unknown flying objects over Washington State. This event triggered a series of other reports, which spread rapidly through the northwestern United States and eventually throughout the world. The reports described the objects as being variously disc-shaped, cigar-shaped, or spherical, rapidly moving through the sky and often performing aerial maneuvers far beyond the capabilities out technology allows.

Following the first explosion of UFO sightings in the United States during the summer of 1947, the commander-in-chief of the newly independent United States Air Force asked Lt. General Nathan F. Twining to undertake a study of the strange objects zipping about in America's skies. On September 23, 1947, Twining sent in a preliminary report, in which he suggested the Air Force set up a permanent project to study UFOs.

The following is a transcript of information found in a document which was released by researcher L. M. Graham. Copies of the original document can be obtained from PEA Research., Milpitas, CA 95035, along with other documentation concerning secret technologies allegedly possessed and utilized by secret governmental organizations as well as documentation and information on a possible interaction between deep government groups and a race of small non-human entities commonly known as the 'Greys'. Areas in the document where (XXXXXX) appears indicates areas where the writing in the duplicate copies obtained by PEA and other groups is too faint to be readable:
THE SHADOW GOVERNMENT: ITS IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS

by
Richard J. Boylan, Ph.D.
This is a summary report on those elements of that clandestine organizational network, (which we shall label the Shadow Government), which serves as a kind of "parallel government" to the official elected and appointed government of this country. It includes those elements known to the author with sufficient certainty that they can be positively identified, and their known or reliably reported functions described. It is distinctly possible that there are other elements, (particularly in the realms of the "Black Budget" and "Special Operations",) which have eluded our study, and are not named here.
The US Government and Unidentified Flying Objects

No branch of the United States Government is currently involved with or responsible for investigations into the possibility of advanced alien civilizations on other planets or for investigating Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO's). The US Air Force (USAF) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have had intermittent, independent investigations of the possibility of alien life on other planets; however, none of these has produced factual evidence that life exists on other planets, nor that UFO's are related to aliens. From 1947 to 1969, the Air Force investigated UFO's; then in 1977, NASA was asked to examine the possibility of resuming UFO investigations.
