I have always been interested in the paranormal, but also have been very skeptical. I've seen objects in the sky that I could not identify, strange animals or beings in the vicinity of my home, and have had experiences with what may be the spirit of a little girl in my home. However, I try to find a logical explanation for everything.

But last night, something happened that I absolutely cannot explain. I breastfeed my twelve-month old son. So, I get up in the middle of the night, when he cries, to feed him. I always look at my phone to see what time it is any time I wake up. Last night, anime came on Cartoon Network, so my husband and I stayed up to watch. We were falling asleep by the time Bleach went off, so we set the rest to record. I undressed for bed, and placed my bra over on my nightstand. I woke up at 6:38 am to my son's cries and got up to feed him. I put on my nursing bra so the other side would not leak while I was feeding him. I noticed the red record lights on the DVR were not on. I was laying back down at 6:52. I had also looked at the stove clock as I was going through the kitchen, and it a couple minutes ahead because I have it set that way. I didn't bother taking my bra off and just went back to sleep.

At 2:09 am, I awoke again. I was wearing my bra and I don't know how I was waking up 4 and a half hours earlier. I checked all of my clocks and they said 2:09-2:11 am, depending on how they are set. The red recording light was lit on the DVR.

As soon as I got up this morning for the day, I started thinking back and trying to analyze it logically, but I just don't know how to. And I think I've had similar experiences in the past, but I wrote them off as misremembering time or something. I've tried to research "time gain" on the internet, but I'm not finding much.

Is anyone familiar with this kind of occurrence, and what does it usually mean?

I had an experience several decades ago. (You can probably find it if you go back under my name and look at paranormal or missing time posts.) To sum it up quickly, I had to go drive my mother home from her job in the middle of the night, and also needed to get up very early to go to work. I estimated I'd have 30-45 minutes to doze after returning home if all went well. I went through a strange fog on my way back to my apartment after getting her home, and when I walked in, my clocks all showed a time BEFORE I'd received the call to go get her. I was stupefied, but too tired to stay up and think it through. I just went back to bed and got the 4 hours sleep I'd have had if her boss hadn't called me to come take her. So at Noon time I called her to see if she was feeling okay, and let her thank me for once again making the 40 mile drive in the middle of the night to rescue her. I didn't bother to tell her until years later about the strange fog and the flipping back in time that preserved my night's sleep.

I think this happens because time is like a vapor or a liquid. Humans make it linear so we can justify the days and nights as we experience them. But if Time is actually NOT linear - if Time is actually like a washing machine full of water or a swirling fog - then if we move just right, we can flow with it and step out when we're actually out-of-sync with our previous timeline, yet as far as we can tell, nothing has changed except for an acceleration or fall-back in our time perception. Just another of the many unsolvable mysteries of Life in a body on Planet Earth.

Some days are DIAMONDS; some days are STONES!
