Magic carpets are an interesting one for sure.
Most think that they are a ficitonal invention, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems somewhere along the line they are at least partly based on fact.
There are at least 4 cutures that speak of magic carpets, that all exhibit the same qualities. Flight, instaneous transformation to the destination of choice and the ability to travel to anywhere.
Though, it's the instaneous transformation part that interests me the most. Seeing what Unity has discovered and is trying to achieve, I got very excited when I saw the similarities in Project Unity's work and ancient tales about vehicles capable of instaneous transformation.
What would give the ancients the idea of instaneous transformation performed by vehicles, unless they had actually witnessed and knew about such methods of travel themselves.
It seems the ancients may have known about drive systems exactly like or very similar to Unity.
I'd be interested to hear what people think one this one.
