I wonder about this thing between humans and apes. Something doesn't seem right. If we came from apes evolving into humans, then why do we still have apes? Why didn't the apes we have now, also evolve?

Something else to ponder is this enigma that has me scratching my head. Adam and Eve were the first humans. They had 3 sons, Abel,Cain and Seth. Cain got teed off and one day killed Abel. Then Cain was cast out of Adam and Eves land , and he went to the land of Nod and married and raised a passal of kids. Hmm, the land of Nod ? Where did the beings in the land of Nod come from if Adam and Eve were the first?

The inhabitants of the land of Nod may have been migrants from Mars. Possibly the greys. They may have crossed their dna with an apes and ended up with Adam and Eve. Remember, Eve came from Adams rib. Sounds like someone has been messing around with dna and cloning. The missing link may be found in the land of Nod.

This is just theory (only mine), but this would sure answer some of the enigmas in the King James version of the bible.

No I'm not an atheist. My father was an ordained minister in the methodist church for 37 years.

I believe in a supreme being. I just don"t believe in anyones religion. Thats why I don't attend church anymore. I do my worship here on this mountain. I figure if the Lord is going to hear me, He will hear me just as well on this mountain as being in a billion dollar church.
Weird thinking eh?

If you're weird, then I'm a freakin' lunatic!!

What do you think of the hobbit discovery of late. It is not related to homo sapiens, but distinct unto itself.

The little people were thought to be imaginary folklore. Even with their very small brain, they were able to fashion tools, and live in communities. Apparently, they existed at the same time as man was going through his evolutionary journey. They even had fire.

As to Adam and Eve and the rib thing, It makes no sense to me either. I think perhaps it was, at the time, some sort of religious story to teach morals or something. All of it was stories, fables, and outright lies, to 'teach' people the way of the church.

Still happens today. Sad isn't it.

Tim, I think you have seen the problem.

I think it could be better to forget about all religious ways and what they teached from long ago to all populations, especially 'cause every religion sees only what is needed to see for itself, so if you change religion, surely they will tell you that the first man was not Adam, but XXX. And this is told also in the movie Zeitgeist (watch it).

I would prefere to link all religions to some kind of event, like ufos coming on the planet, 'cause many times there are evidences in old books, pictures, caves and many other places, and also the way how they (religions) grow up in almost same age, could show that they come from something not terrestrial (who was arriving from sky? Why they always indicate the sky as "God's house"?). That remembering disappeared in human minds during centuries, so after that time all peoples came back to believe (without seeing) that someone is up there watching everyone...(how many eyes does he has?).

They pretended to have contact with that superior entity, but as we all know, is not true! Now those entities come to visit the planet and peoples can take pictures of their flying devices...

(Anyway, I don't feel myself becoming from apes)

What peoples need now, is to have clear knowledge, skiping all those stories used only to keep power against them, so with that power they can do what they want.

I think it was David(Barkley) that mention the little people he had knowledge of and he also gave me some links. If I can find them I'll post them. I keep most of my files on the small pocket drives. It frees the hard drive on the computer. I even carry one on my key chain

The hobbits have set some thinkers on their ears. The hobbits only get a breif mention on the news and the general public are not aware of them. This evolution thing doesn't necessary hold water all the time. On one of the south sea islands, they found last summer, two skeletons of beings only 30 inches tall. They first thought they were of children but, after closer examination here in the U.S. , they discovered the skeletons were of fully grown adult humans with modern human skulls. The remains were thought to be over 2000 yrs old. (National Geographic channel)

If some of the stories in the James bible was thought of in modern times, some of the stories are probably true and told in the only way they knew how in that period of time.

If Adam and Eve was the result of ET's monkying around, that may be another reason the U.S. government does not admit their existance. Think what it might do to the religions on this planet.

In the name of religion, wars have been waged throughout history and is still doing so today.

And this is reported in the Zeitgeist movie with "what kind of godness can be ..."

you should see that movie to understand. Another one about religion is called "the last inquisitor" and I think is one of the best showing what happened and what could happen again...

slohand4455 says: "I wonder about this thing between humans and apes. Something doesn't seem right. If we came from apes evolving into humans, then why do we still have apes? Why didn't the apes we have now, also evolve?"

Evolution does not say we come from apes, it says we come from a common ancestor that we share with apes. So, you and your cousin twice-removed are descended from a common ancestor, but that does not mean your cousin should not still be around.

Apes (or whatever they were way-back-when) have continued to evolve since their common ancestor to the present day: witness that we now have orang-outangs, gorrillas, chimpanzees, and humans (yes, we are classified as apes). All these variations share a common ancestor in the distant past and have evolved steadily since then to their present form as we find them today.
