Hi guys I am new,

Long ago I and a friend haD a really unusual sighting of some sort ,in the mountains of South Africa.

What we saw was a Cloud like object just hovering amoungst the clouds. The normal
clouds were moving but this beautiful cloud like object remained stationary high up amoungst the clouds as we both watched in awe.

The object was beautiful and green and the edges fringed or had bright pink edges. While looking it slowely dissapeared amoungst the clouds.

When telling out wives of what we had seen they would not believe and said we were fabricating the story.

Has anyone seen this type of phenomenon?

aLAN

It is hard to judge what you saw, but what we do know of UFO's, many sightings cannot specifically detail the exact shape of the object due to the electromagnetic interference created when it is in our atmosphere, which creates a blurring or fuzzy effect around it. The lights change in relation to the speed, manoeuvers etc, and appear brighter when moving, or brighter and more colourful when taking off at high rates of speed. It isn't uncommon when it does take off, that it seems to punch a hole in the clouds.

It is also not uncommon for them to change shape, or alter light patterns depending upon what they are doing, how fast they are moving, etc. The more detail you can provide the better, such as approximate size, speed, height etc. It is hard to judge these things at the moment they are happening. Sometimes the lights can help determine somewhere in the ballpark as to its shape.

It is good that you had a person with you who also witnessed the same thing. Maybe you will be lucky enough to spot another one.

Tim,

Thank you I think it was some sort of a craft causing a rainbow like refracted mist around it, perhaps to hide its real appearance.

I know it was not a cloud as it did not move

Rule number one "Always bring a camera with you". Camcorders are getting smaller and cheaper. Aiptek makes a pocket size camcorder that records on flash cards. I got a High Def one for 120 bucks and though it's bigger then the standard camcords they sell, it still fits in my pocket. I put it in my truck and carry it everywhere knowing I'm going to see something that without photos, no one in their right mind will believe me. I'm not plugging this site but if it's ok I'de like to post this. http://www.aiptek.com check out their line of cameras. they're almost the size of pinhole cameras kits. just bulky. the casings are kind of cheap which is why they're inexpensive but the quality of video is really good. I'de give it a 3.5 out of 5 rating. As for clouds having a green tinge to it, I think that means it's forming a vortex. I saw a greenish cloud and knew it was forming a tornado which is rare in California. sure enough, Sacramento had a tornado alert some 30 minutes later which this cloud was heading in the direction of the Capital city. I actually video taped it. I should look for it and show you guys though it looks more grayish on video.
