This study demonstrates that all of the
"rod" pictures on Jose Escamilla's
www.roswellrod.com site show a "rod"
length-to-speed correlation that is
consistent with the motion blur pattern
created by a flying insect, if the insect
is videographed with a CCD camera using
either 1/60 or 1/100 second exposures.
The site also presents pictures of
motion-blurred insects showing this same
"rod-like" length-to-speed pattern, and
showing that flapping insect wings can
duplicate undulating or sinusoidal "rod"
wing patterns when shot at these slow
shutter speeds. Conclusion: Escamilla's
"rods" are motion-blurred flying insects.
